02 April 2015, Banteay MeanChey: To improve the implementation of social accountability and get support from sub national administration, RACHA, World Vision, BanteayMeanChey (BMC) administration, and the NCDDS co-organized a dissemination workshop on social accountability implementation on the 1st April, 2015 at BMC.

 

The workshop was presided by H.E Korsom Sarearth, BMC governor and H.E Cheam Pe A, deputy director general at the ministry of interior, and the director of monitoring evaluation and information division of NCDDS. The workshop was attended by 261 persons from sub national administration, community social accountability facilitators, NGOs, and development partners. 

 

H.E Korsom Sarearth advised commune councilors, the head of the health center, and the director of the primary school at BMC to disseminate broadly information for citizens to all community people. He added that the three authorities have to join meetings with citizens and civil society organizations and evaluate their public service delivery. 

 

“the purpose of the workshop is to strengthen the health sector and other sectors in local governance.” H.E Cheam Pe A said, “Social accountability is a main part of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s decentralization and de-concentralization reform.”

 

BMC governor showed a commitment to implement social accountability in the target districts. “I am always well prepared to cooperate and coordinate with all stakeholders and NGOs to have a successful implementation of social accountability.” H.E said. NCDDS
