Ratanakiri: In response to commune development plan and yearly investment program in Angkorng commune, Konmom district, Ratanakiri, Angkorng commune council and project management commission with coordination of provincial planning and investment division, on 19 November 2012 a path work site opening ceremony was held to construct a 1.75-kilometer red gravel-paved path and a twin water pipe with a contract cost 61,490,000 riel (15,372.5 USD) in Sre Angkorng commune.
The event was presided over by Mr. Chhim Sokhim, Sre Angkorng commune chief, Konmom district, Ratanakiri province.
The event was attended by a district deputy governor, commune council, commune clerk, village chief, village assistant, contractors, and citizen, totaling 20 (6 women).
Mr. Chhim Sokhim, Angkorng commune chief, said in the opening of work site that the road construction event was to fulfill needs of citizen in Bei village, Sre Angkorng commune. “The today’s road work site opening ceremony is to get project management commission, contractors, and stakeholders to meet to resolve remaining problems, set a clear project location, and increase good cooperation with responsibilities of all involved parties in implementing and monitoring project as set in technical outline and condition set in contract.
“In any case the project is prevented from proceeding, all relevant parties should conduct discussion, find resolution, or report to commune, district and provincial level in order that they help to give advice and support as needed,” added Mr. Chhim Sokhim.
He added that to enhance the project effectiveness and to avoid problems, contractors should have work site manual for advice and monitoring, take minutes, and produce key report of project implementation between project owners and contractor well.
After speaking at the event, project management commission, contractors, and all involved parties approved to pave the way for setting road and water pipe construction location with good cooperation amongst relevant parties. Citizen in the project implementation zone are happy toward the project.
